Davenport Ranch is an upscale neighborhood of about 500 homes in west Austin that offers exemplary amenities and stunning views of the Austin skyline. The neighborhood was created in the mid-1980s and built in many stages, resulting in a wide variety of housing styles and sizes within the luxury context. Single family homes, luxury condominiums, and gated section homes all reside in this prestigious neighborhood.

The single-family homes of Davenport Ranch are often spacious, with brick and stone exteriors and large lots, and with some homes backing up to greenbelt. Many feature amenities such as swimming pools, outdoor living areas, and views of the hill country, with some of the homes already receiving extensive renovations despite their relative youth. Some homes are within gated sections of the neighborhood, and a very limited number of condominiums also make their home in Davenport Ranch.

It’s common to find spacious homes with brick and stone exteriors. Many feature luxurious amenities like an outdoor swimming pool and patio with fireplaces that take advantage of the surrounding Hill Country views. Those who own homes in Davenport Ranch are required to be a member of the Davenport Ranch Homeowners Association. The annual dues go toward things like neighborhood maintenance, amenity upkeep, and community events.

Location

Davenport Ranch is bordered by Highway 360 to the west, Wild Basin Wilderness Preserve to the south, and Lake Austin to the north and east. It is in MLS Map areas 8E and 8W and in zip codes 78746 and 78733. Westlake Drive is one of the main entrances into the neighborhood.

Davenport Ranch is ten miles from downtown Austin. Residents enjoy a 15-20 minute commute to downtown Austin.

Residents of the Davenport Ranch neighborhood are minutes from, or even bordering, the Austin Country Club. Since its start in 1899, as the oldest golf course in Texas, the prestigious course has been home to several PGA golf champions. It offers tennis courts, a swimming pool, dining options, and more. Membership is by invitation only.

The Wild Basin Wilderness Preserve forms the southern border to Davenport Ranch and offers more than two miles of trails that wind through woodland and grassland over 227 acres.

Emma Long Metropolitan Park is about three miles from the neighborhood, on 70 acres along the Lake Austin shoreline. It includes sand volleyball courts, camping and picnic areas, a swimming area, and two boat ramps.

Shopping and Restaurants

Davenport Village is the go-to shopping and dining hub for Davenport Ranch residents, with more than 40 upscale vendors, ranging from popular retail stores to banks to restaurants, including Uno Trattoria and Wine Bar and Maudie’s Tex-Mex.

Davenport Ranch is also a short, ten minute drive south to Barton Creek Mall, which offers hundreds of shopping opportunities, including Nordstrom and Dillard’s. About ten minutes north is the Arboretum, an outdoor-centered shopping center that also offers hundreds of stores.
