Pioneer Crossing Homes For Sale
Overview
Nestled in 1,400 acres in Northeast Austin, the Pioneer Crossing Neighborhood is ideally located just five minutes from I-35, giving residents an easy commute to downtown. The neighborhood is divided into two main sections – East and West. Both areas draw residents because of their proximity to well-known businesses like Applied Materials, Samsung Electronics, Dell, and the Walnut Creek Business Park.
Development of the subdivision began in the early 2000s and many of the first homes were sold in 2002. As of late 2008, there was still space for nearly 700 more homes. Prospective homebuyers will find both one- and two-story properties that range in size from 1,100 square feet to more than 4,000 square feet. Prices begin at around $130,000 and go up to over $300,000.
Those living in the neighborhood are required to be part of the Homeowners Association, which helps monitor community regulations, plan events throughout the year, and more. The fees, about $300 per year, are used for community upkeep and landscaping.
The subdivision is a short drive from all the conveniences residents will need including an H.E.B., Walgreen’s and CVS pharmacies, and Super Wal-Mart. There are also plenty of dining venues located throughout the neighborhood and along Braker Lane, from fast food to more formal, sit-down restaurants.
Those seeking recreation pursuits will delight in the many available around the Pioneer Crossing neighborhood. Walnut Creek Metropolitan Park is just a short drive away and features several picnic areas with barbeque pits, volleyball and basketball courts, a softball field, and a play area for children. Golf lovers will enjoy the Bluebonnet Hill Golf Course that is within five miles of the neighborhood. The 18-hole course is located on Decker Lane and provides a challenge for players of all skill levels.
Jourdan-Bachman Pioneer Farms is located in the southern side of Pioneer Crossing and is a well-known attraction throughout the Austin area. Families can visit here to learn about Texas history while exploring restored buildings like a Blacksmith shop, general store, and a museum. It also features woodworking, spinning, and weaving demonstrations. The farm is open on Friday and Sunday of each week and is run by volunteers.
Most children living in Pioneer Crossing will attend schools within the Manor Independent School District. This includes the Bluebonnet Trails Elementary School, Manor Middle School, and Manor High School. For the younger children in your family, Extend-A-Care for Kids, Today’s Child, and Bluebonnet Trail Child Development are all daycare centers within a few miles of the neighborhood.
