Preston Oaks Homes For Sale

Overview

The Preston Oaks subdivision is a northwest Austin neighborhood of homes built between 1997 and 1999. The neighborhood is located off of westbound Parmer Lane in north Austin, just a few hundred yards from MoPac.

Preston Oaks Neighborhood in Austin, Texas

Preston Oaks is comprised of just five streets: Columbine Drive, Council Bluff Drive, Walling Forge Drive, Destiny’s Gate Drive, and War Path. It is bordered to the east by the various phases of the Northwood subdivision, built from the mid-1970s to the early 1980s. This subdivision seamlessly meshes with Northwood, so that the entire network of homes feels like one large, interwoven neighborhood.

Homes here are one or two stories, and generally in very good condition. Front yards can be small, but many homes have moderately sized, fenced back yards. Although a newer neighborhood, Preston Oaks feels established due to its large, mature trees. While Preston Oaks borders busy Parmer Lane, the subdivision is for the most part set back and away from Parmer, and is rather quiet.

Preston Oaks is strategically placed, given the way the northern region of the Austin area has grown. Parmer Lane due west will take you eventually to Cedar Park; Parmer Lane east gets you onto MoPac in moments, with access to no shortage of immediate places to grocery shop, exercise, or dine. The Domain shopping center is just a few minutes south on MoPac, and if you take MoPac north you are in Round Rock in a few minutes, right in the middle of the popular La Frontera shopping center. You can be in the heart of downtown Austin or in the downtown square in the Williamson County seat of Georgetown within fifteen to twenty minutes – take your pick.
