Established in 1995, this gorgeous neighborhood has a total of 825 homes and offers a broad range of established homes, new homes, and undeveloped lakeside lots for sale. Houses in Lake Pointe average 12 years old, although homes in the two custom communities range between one and five years old.

Unique to its suburban setting, the varied styles of the Lake Pointe community include everything from waterfront Italian villas on private streets and courtyard-style Mediterranean townhomes to elegant white limestone exterior Craftsman-style homes with sweeping hill country views.

Lake Pointe is comprised of several different subdivisions including The Setting, The Landing, and The Estate, gated luxury section The Pointe, as well as the upscale Vista Pointe. The least expensive homes are typically closer to RM 2244 (Bee Caves Road,) and the most costly are located nearer to Lake Austin. Homes on Resaca Blvd and Sea Eagle View are always in demand.

Built on hills with commanding views of Lake Austin and the Hill Country, Vista Pointe is in the northern section of Lake Pointe. Most of its homes feature very nice outdoor living and kitchen areas. The Pointe is at the end of Resaca Blvd. near Lake Austin, gated, exclusive, and offers high-end homes that start at $1 million.

Tax rates in Lake Pointe generally change from year to year, and are currently around $2.20 per $100 of property value. There are no city taxes in Lake Pointe. Taxing authorities include Travis County, Lake Travis ISD, West Travis Co. MUD #3 or 5, and Travis County hospital and emergency service districts.

Location

The MLS areas are LS and 8W. Positioned in the beautiful, rolling hills of Western Travis County, it lies about 25 minutes from the airport, right next to the Hill Country Galleria.

The main entrance to Lake Pointe is Resaca Blvd., about 1 mile east of US 71 and 6 miles west of Loop 360 (Capital of Texas Hwy) on Bee Cave Road (RM 2244). There are two other entrances to Lake Pointe from RM 2244: Bayton and Napa.

Only 12 miles from central Austin via RM 2244 (see central Austin homes for sale), the Lake Pointe community is a short commute to the jobs, nightlife, and cultural aspects of downtown. Residents can take Highway 71 to Southwest Parkway, RR 620 to 2222, or 2244 (Bee Caves Road) to 360 (Capital of Texas Hwy). Residents heading to north and northwest Austin can take RR 620.

For boaters, the community lies directly across Lake Austin from Mary Quinlan and the Lake Austin Spa. It is the perfect community for those who are interested in living near both Lake Austin and Lake Travis. The new Bee Cave Parkway just North of Lake Pointe bypasses the congested intersection of Hwy 71 and RR 620, making it quick and easy to access Lakeway.

For homebuyers passionate about live music, the fabulous historic outdoor music venue “The Backyard” is just around the corner from Lake Pointe. Nationally known as one of the top Live Entertainment Venues in Austin, this outdoor venue is located alongside the new Central Park. Membership in the Lake Pointe Home Owners Association (HOA) is mandatory, with quarterly dues of $100. The HOA is responsible for maintenance of the community facilities, common area walls, equipment, utilities, signage, administration, architectural control, covenant enforcement, and resident correspondence.
