Rivercrest Homes For Sale
Overview
Rivercrest is high-end Austin real estate at its best. For those who have the means and the desire to purchase a one-of-a-kind dream home on rare waterfront property, you’ll find the opportunity here, in one of Austin’s most exclusive, private, and secluded enclaves. Set in west Austin (see west Austin homes for sale,) Rivercrest is a small community of only about 100 homes that was established in the early 1960s, but in the decades since has seen many homes replaced or remodeled to exacting standards. Homes can have waterfront boat docks or community boat dock access, and at times home listings here might include such phrases as “featured in Robb Report Magazine.”
Properties in Rivercrest
Home styles in Rivercrest range from majestic Mediterranean to ultra-modern contemporary, from a multi-tiered “treetop” structure to a sprawling 9,000 square foot mansion. Customized designs and features abound, with outdoor living areas, tiled balconies, oversized stone fireplaces, pools with swim-up bars, boat docks, home theatres, state of the art kitchens, and separate guest quarters.
The entry to Rivercrest is dramatic: turning off Bunny Run, the gentle downward slope of Hillbilly Drive takes residents deep into a heavily wooded area, where the branches of enormous, mature oak trees form a thick, high canopy of lush foliage. This gives way to open sky, and suddenly you are thrust onto Rivercrest Drive and its custom-built, luxury residences on the shores of Lake Austin.
Rivercrest Drive runs parallel to the waterway and dead-ends to a wooded area with a large dock for all the neighborhood boats. Most of the homes sit on Rivercrest, either on waterfront lots or on interior lots across the street. A handful of streets named in keeping with a theme (Pixie Cove, Elfland Drive, Troll Haven) feed off of Rivercrest and end in cul-de-sacs, with those homes sitting among gorgeous tall oak trees, backyards backing to the water.
