Where to Spend New Year’s Eve in Austin

published on December 31, 2011

New Year’s Eve is approaching, and Austin is throwing several celebrations around town, including for the kids!

The most famed event is Austin’s New Year (ANY) at Auditorium Shores in Central Austin. An annual event, ANY will be hosting Carolyn Wonderland as the headlining musical artist this year and will showcase many talented Austinites through art, films, and live music. ANY is an alcohol-free celebration that kids and adults from all over Austin can enjoy. Families won’t want to miss AYP’s exciting fireworks finale!

Willie Nelson and Friends will be playing the Moody Theater: Austin City Limits Live. Tickets are available online and through the box office. The Alamo Drafthouse Downtown at the Ritz will be hosting "Sing-Alongs: New Year’s Eve Mix Tape," in which they will be recounting most major pop songs and viral Youtube videos from 2011.

Also, the Zilker Holiday Tree in Barton Creek will still be up and running for families who didn’t get the chance to spin under the tree during Christmas, and the Austin Children’s Museum is hosting a New Year’s Eve Family Party, in which all proceeds from the event will go to the museum’s annual funding. And if you are in South Austin, Austin Roller Rink is hosting a New Year’s Eve Bash and Countdown with live DJ sets and skating. In short – there are New Year’s Eve events for all Austinites, no matter their interests.

Austin luxury REALTOR® Brian Talley will be spending his New Years Eve at home in West Austin with his family. If you are looking for the perfect place to call home in Austin, perform an Austin Home Search and let Brian help you find the perfect place.
