Musical Hairspray Now Showing at Zilker Hillside Theater

Zilker Theatre Productions presents its 57th annual Zilker Summer Musical with Hairspray, a high-energy musical comedy. Winner of eight Tony awards, including Best Musical, Hairspray is set in 1962 Baltimore and follows a teenage girl’s dream of appearing on a television dance show, only to win a spot and then face challenges trying to integrate the show.
The live show runs through August 15, on Thursdays through Sundays at approximately 8:15 p.m. Admission is free, but donations are appreciated. Picnic baskets and coolers are allowed, and drinks and snacks also can be purchased at the theater’s concession stand. No pets allowed.
Enter Zilker from the northbound MoPac service road just before Barton Springs Road. The theater is across from Barton Springs Pool.
