Luxury Master-planned Community underway in Spicewood
published on June 21, 2023
The first phase of Thomas Ranch in Spicewood broke ground this June. The 2,200-acre luxury community off Highway 71 in the Texas Hill Country will offer 3,500 homes when complete, as well as two miles of riverfront, 40 miles of trails, 1,200 miles of preserved or improved open space, a golf course, a boutique hotel and spa, dining venues, and wellness facilities. Many of the shopping, dining, and recreational venues will be open to the public. On the property’s 2,200 acres, there are even plans for a hospital and a grocery store.
Loraloma is the first phase of the project and will include 450 cottages, villas, estates, and custom home sites, with homes ranging from two to five bedrooms and from 2,500 square feet to 10,000 square feet. Sales will start with 25 lots. Amenities will include a swimming hole and fishing pond. The golf course is slated to open in 2024 and will have a clubhouse and restaurant, pickleball courts, and the boutique hotel. Each phase/neighborhood is expected to reflect its own “character,” while “there is a collective focus on shared experiences and a connection to nature,” according to the development’s site.
“There will be ample opportunities to spend a day, or weekend, exploring the shops, enjoying events and live music, and connecting with nature in a seamless way that is unlike anything else Central Texas has been able to offer before. Imagine coming out to the ranch, getting breakfast and coffee, then utilizing the miles of nature trails for hiking, biking or running, coming back to do some shopping and enjoying lunch before checking out whatever event or pop-up is happening that weekend.”
