How Good are the Schools? SAT Scores in the Austin Area

As it turns out, there are a variety of central Texas schools and districts that show solid SAT scores, a good indicator of the school’s overall academic level.

The Austin Business Journal reported average SAT scores at public high schools based on the Texas Education Agency’s Texas Academic Performance Reports and found that Austin Independent School District, Round Rock Independent School District, Eanes Independent School District, Leander Independent School District, and Lake Travis Independent School District all have schools in the top ten.

Here are the top 15 schools for SAT scores in the Austin area:

  2. Round Rock ISD: Westwood, Score of 1821
  3. Eanes ISD: Westlake, Score of 1799
  4. Leander ISD: Vandergrift, Score of 1693
  5. Austin ISD: Anderson, Score of 1685
  6. Lake Travis ISD: Lake Travis, Score of 1670
  7. Austin ISD: Garza Independence, Score of 1653
  8. Leander ISD: Cedar Park, Score of 1645
  9. Round Rock ISD: McNeil, Score of 1639
  10. Austin ISD: McCallum, Score of 1622
  11. Dripping Springs ISD: Dripping Springs, Score of 1619
  12. Wimberley ISD: Wimberley, Score of 1619
  13. Austin ISD: Ann Richards School for Young Women Leaders, Score of 1612
