Hit Musician Entertains Austin’s Premier Real Estate Team Regent Property Group

published on July 23, 2012

Musician Andy Grammer, known for hit songs such as “Fine By Me” and “Keep Your Head Up” recently entertained premier Austin real estate firm Regent Property Group with a private concert in the backyard of Regent Founder Brian Talley. Regent real estate agents, members of its support team, and other affiliates, such as mortgage, title, and staging professionals, were in attendance for this one-time, personal appearance.

“It was a fantastic event,” said Talley. “We were able to shake his hand, take pictures, and even sing with Andy. It was a great way for all of us to unwind from this incredibly busy Austin real estate season and bond even further as a team.”

Regent Property Group won a contest for the concert from Austin radio station MIX 94.7, after agent Kim Wilson entered the team, known for its Austin luxury home and buying and selling expertise. “I still can’t believe I won a private concert for the office!” said Wilson. “I’m very thankful to MIX 94.7 for the opportunity to see Andy Grammer sing and get pictures with him. We all had such a fantastic time.”

Grammer was named an “Artist to Watch” by Billboard Magazine in January 2011 and was in town touring with Colbie Caillat and Gavin DeGraw. He’s no stranger to Austin, having performed at BMI’s Acoustic Brunch at SXSW 2011, where he was one of the artists contributing to a recording produced by Hanson benefiting the victims of the 2011 Japan earthquake. He also won MTV’s “O Music Awards” for most innovative video for “Keep Your Head Up” and was featured by The Grammy Museum in Los Angeles for the museum’s first installment of a homegrown local artist series.

Even ten-year-old Grace, daughter of Central Austin and Tarrytown real estate specialist Kay Lawley, had her chance for a special treat at the private concert: a one-on-one jam session with Grammer. Grace played guitar, which she had been practicing every night along with YouTube videos, as Grammer sang “Fine By Me” in a crowd-pleasing collaboration.

It was a great experience, a great day,” said Talley. “We’re blessed to live in such a creative, diverse city and to be able to receive the benefits from that. It’s one of the reasons so many of our clients move to Austin, and why they want to stay once they get here. It’s certainly ‘Fine By Me’ to live and work in Austin!”
