Downtown Austin’s 55th Annual Zilker Garden Festival

Austin gardeners from Lost Creek to Seven Oaks, mark your calendars: it’s time for the 55^th Annual Zilker Garden Festival!

WHAT: Since the late 60s, this family-friendly fest has celebrated horticulture at its finest with an exquisite flower show, gardening talks by seasoned experts, face-painting and birdhouse-building at the Kids’ Corner, live music in the Rose Garden – not to mention, squadrons of plant vendors, arts and crafts vendors, and tasty food … all for only $8 per adult and $4 per child! Plus, all proceeds go to Austin’s beloved Zilker Botanical Gardens.

WHEN: The 2012 Zilker Garden Festival begins on Saturday, March 31^st at 10 a.m. and runs through 5 p.m. Sunday, April 1^st. Plan to arrive early, and it may be a good idea to bring a wagon. Who knows what backyard treasures may catch your eye amidst the rich variety of annuals, perennials, tropicals, cacti and succulents, vegetables and herbs—or, amidst the plethora of garden-lover gifts, from birdhouses and benches to herbal products, pottery, jewelry, and more!

PARKING: Parking under Mopac or on Stratford Dr. will be prohibited. Garden Festival parking will cost $5 and is located at the polo fields in Zilker Park, across Barton Springs Rd. from the entrance to the Zilker Botanical Garden.
