Austin’s BoConcept Invites Creativity with Custom Furniture Design
published on April 25, 2012
Buyers often like what they see at BoConcept, a custom furniture design store in Austin’s popular 2nd Street District that helps customers achieve their decorating visions. The minimalist pieces at BoConcept have a subtle European allure and have become wildly popular with Austin luxury home owners and renters alike.
“We sell all over, from the east side to Westlake and San Antonio,” said store manager Dillar Schwartz, who has been with Bo since its not-so-humble beginning. Schwartz says BoConcept’s style fits Austin because it’s all about affordable quality and customizable pieces. Here, buyers can select any piece, and then it can be ordered in another color, texture, or configuration. The company also offers an in-home design consultation service, completed by trained design consultants. Consultants use clients’ existing furniture and style as a starting point for designing a complete floor plan.
At the Downtown Austin location on West Second Street, home décor shoppers can explore meticulously arranged living rooms, dining rooms, and bedrooms, as well as a full customization studio. Inviting fabrics and leathers cover sofas and chairs of all sizes, and accent colors pop. Try not to touch each throw pillow when walking through their inviting gallery. Just try.
Designers Jens Ærthøj Jensen and Tage Mølholm started BoConcept in a small Danish town in 1952. Now, it has grown to include more than 230 franchise stores and 90 studios in more than 50 countries. The Austin store opened in October 2008. This year, BoConcept will celebrate its fourth anniversary, as a place for not only inventive shoppers but also for upscale events and launches. Thinking of redecorating after finishing your Austin home search? Think BoConcept.
