Austin Symphony’s “Concerts in the Park” Returns

Long Center AustinThe Austin Symphony’s annual tradition of “Concerts in the Park” returns this summer at the Hartman Concert Park at the Long Center City Terrace in central Austin. In its thirteenth year, the free, live music series features ensemble performances from members of the Austin Symphony and runs most Sunday evenings through the summer. Music selections will range from jazz and light classical music to pops selections and film scores.

Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets, folding chairs, and picnic dinners to enjoy the music, which begins at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday evenings from now through August 23, excluding the fifth of July. Attendees generally are a mix of symphony enthusiasts, families, and even passersby from the popular outdoor recreation areas surrounding the Long Center.

Free Parking for the concerts is available at the One Texas Center, located at the intersection of Barton Springs Road and South 1st Street. Paid parking is available at the Palmer Events Center Garage for $8.

Weather-related cancellations will be announced via the Austin Symphony website and its Facebook page. The concerts are a gift to the community from the Hartman Family Foundation.
