The Ranch at Brushy Creek, located north of Austin, is a large, master-planned Cedar Park neighborhood established in 2005 and surrounded by Texas hill country. Brushy Creek Lake was constructed in 1965. Recreational activities on the lake include fishing, non-motorized boating, swimming, and wildlife observation. The lake is adjacent to the Brushy Creek Lake Park.
The Ranch at Brushy Creek is nestled along the nearby Brushy Creek Lake and the 90-acre park that surrounds it, Brushy Creek Lake Park. The park houses a canoe and kayak launch, a fishing pier, a wildlife observation area, ample parking, a water playscape, nature trails, an exercise station, sand volleyball courts, and three pavilions that can be rented for special occasions. An eight-mile trail runs through the park, connecting Cedar Park to Round Rock.
This connecting trail, called the Williamson County Regional Trail , winds through the area around The Ranch at Brushy Creek and provides an ideal place for hiking and biking.
Fourteen acre Ranch Trails Park is also nearby, on the corner of North Frontier Road and Ranch Trails, adjacent to the amenities center. The park features sand volleyball and basketball courts, lush tree coverage, picnic and barbeque areas, a labyrinth, a wildlife observation area, a water-play area, an open-air pavilion, and plans for playscapes and extended walking trails.
Champion Park is the second in a series of well-maintained parks along the Brushy Creek Regional Trail that follows its namesake from Parmer Lane to Great Oaks Drive. The park offers open fields; miles of trails for jogging, biking, and strolling; swings; a sandpit with fake dinosaur bones for excavating; and shaded areas for escaping the sun. A run-through fountain shaped like a giant whale skeleton helps cool down visitors during the hotter months. A large pavilion with picnic tables and BBQ pits can be reserved for use.
Libraries
The City of Cedar Park Library, just 3.3 miles away, is the closest resource for free reading. Both the Round Rock Public Library and the Leander Public Library also are relatively close at a distance of five miles.
Shopping and Restaurants
Although not within Austin, residents of The Ranch at Brushy Creek have a multitude of conveniences just minutes from home. Tim Mccoi’s family “loves being outside,” but they also frequent the Round Rock movie theater, which they can reach in about 10 to 15 minutes by car.

The Round Rock Premium Outlets offer over 125 outlet stores like Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, Brooks Brothers, Burberry, Coach, J.Crew, Nike, and Tommy Hilfiger. Nearby restaurants include a Mimi’s Café, and a large Ikea is one exit north of the outlets.
Four Points Center, located 12 miles from The Ranch at Brushy Creek, is home to a selection of retailers that includes restaurants, banks, and department stores.
