Properties in Canterbury Trails

Like Olympic Hills just to its south, Canterbury Trails appears to have been established as a example of what can be built when pairing a reasonable family budget with a desire to reside in a quality-built home in southwest Austin’s beautiful rolling hills.

Once ground was broken for the Canterbury Trails project, little time was wasted in completing the subdivision. All of the houses there were built between 1999 and 2001, making it a good option for anyone seeking newer construction in a neighborhood with a slightly more established feel.

Nestled close to other desired neighborhoods such as Southland Oaks and Shady Hollow, Canterbury Trails benefits from all that has been set in place for those older communities—from nearby dining and entertainment to a great selection of family shopping opportunities and nearby employers. Canterbury Trails is only a twenty-minute commute to downtown, making this southwest Austin subdivision a convenient solution.

HEB, Albertsons, and Randall’s provide for all grocery shopping needs, and nearby movie theaters, bowling alleys, and hangouts make it possible to achieve both productivity and relaxation without going too far from home. The same applies for dining. Some of Austin’s favorite eateries—such as Café 1626 and the Galaxy Café—are only a couple of miles away.

Canterbury Trails has the benefit of being bordered by a 13-acre greenbelt. Admired for its springtime wildflowers, and accessible through the community park, it is a favored spot for hikers, bikers, and joggers.

Lot sizes in Canterbury Trails range from .10 acres to .29 acres, but a standard lot would be right around .14 acres, but 45 feet by 125 feet pretty standard for the neighborhood. That’s 5,625 square feet for a typical lot.

As is common in the area, Canterbury Trails is all single family homes with no condo options. Houses are typically constructed of three-sides masonry—typically brick, but some native stone facades are mixed in as well.
