The Austin Business Journal recently ranked each Austin zip code based on 12 affluence factors, including household income, per capita income, and home values. The 78746 zip code, which includes West Lake Hills, took the top spot for affluence, with a median house value of $634,000. The largest homes, however, were not found in West Lake Hills but down in 78739, which stretches from about Slaughter Lane near MoPac to south of Highway 45 and includes the neighborhood of Circle C Ranch. Forty seven percent of the homes in Circle C were found to have nine or more rooms. This compares to, for example, 2.5 percent in trendy 78704.

The Austin Symphony will host ten free music concerts this holiday season with its new Christmas in the Community program. The concerts will be held at various locations in Austin and will feature different ensembles of the orchestra – Woodwinds, Bass, Strings, etc. – playing holiday music.
The first concert will be December 4, with Woodwinds at the Lakeline Mall Macy’s. The program concludes the concert series on December 23, with the Stardust Orchestra Big Band and the Austin Symphony string quartet at Symphony Square.

2015 Might Be Record Year for Austin Real Estate
Austin-area single-family home sales increased two percent in October 2015 compared to the same month in 2014, and while this increase may seem small, it is the fifth consecutive month of upward momentum and adds to a potential record-making year in Austin real estate.
“We’re on pace for another record year and while home sales typically slow each fall, housing demand has remained strong far past the typical peak selling season,” said Austin Board of REALTORS® President Barb Cooper. “This demand stems from strong employment and our area’s high growth rate—factors that help create a stable housing market.”

The Austin Board of Realtors® and the Austin Independent School District are teaming up to help Austin Realtors provide homebuyers with more knowledge about area schools.
