For the first time in five years, Willie Nelson's 4th of July Picnic will return to Austin, Texas. The 42nd edition of the all-day event will take place Saturday, July 4th at Circuit of The Americas' Austin360 Amphitheater. The picnic will include a fireworks display to celebrate America's birthday.
"The first 4th of July picnic was outside Austin at Dripping Springs, Texas," said Nelson. "I got the idea from Woodstock about how music could bring people from different places together. I had just moved to Austin and had come to realize what a great music center it was and could be. I thought it would be a nice idea to, this year have it back in Austin, but at a more comfortable venue for the fans AND the pickers.”

The millennial generation, those ages 34 and younger, was the largest group of recent homebuyers, according to the 2015 National Association of Realtors® Home Buyer and Seller Generational Trends study. This is the second year millennials have garnered the largest percentage, 32 percent, which was one percent higher than the previous 12-month period. Generation X, those ages 35-49, was a close second with 27 percent.

Austin-area home sales and prices both broke records in February, continuing a trend for 2014-2015. A Multiple Listing Service (MLS) report released by the Austin Board of REALTORS® showed that 1,775 single-family homes sold in February 2015, which resulted in a five percent increase compared to February 2014 and the highest number of homes ever sold for that month.
Many REALTORS® have been seeing increased competition among buyers for Austin’s listings, with homes in the most popular areas and neighborhoods going under contract at or over list price within a few days of listing. As Austin enters the most active period of the year for home sales, this same influence looks to be in place for a busy spring-summer.
