Holiday Film Series at the Paramount Theatre

Paramount Theatre Austin Paul BardagjyRing in the season with classic holiday films on the big screen throughout the month of December at the Paramount Theatre in downtown Austin. With classics such as “It’s a Wonderful Life” and “A Christmas Carol,” all the way to modern movies such as “Elf,” there are movies for everyone to celebrate the season.

All the holiday films screened at the Paramount will be presented in 35mm and will feature new and restored prints. Some of the movies include special events, such as the popular Elf Pub Run.

Austin real estate statistics 2014Austin Home Sales and Prices Set October Records

Austin-area home sales hit an all-time high this October 2014, with 2,403 single-family homes sold, an increase of 16 percent compared to last October and the largest year-over-year increase in home sales to date this year, according to a report released by the Austin Board of Realtors®.

Home prices also set a record for the month of October, with both median and average prices rising 11 percent. Median price reached $240,000, and average price reached $311,028, both the highest October figures ever recorded in the Austin area.

The total dollar volume of single-family properties sold in the Austin area reached $747,400,284 at last count, a total that is 29 percent more than this time last year.
