Austin Real Estate vs Unemployment

The Austin unemployment rate (Austin-Round Rock) jumped from 6.2% in May 2009 to 7.1% in June 2009 with 600 more people employed in Austin-Round Rock in June 2009 than the previous month. In comparison, during the same time period the State of Texas unemployment rate increased from 6.9% in May 2009 to 8.0% in June 2009.  The United States unemployment rate increased from 9.1% in May 2009 to 9.7% in June 2009.  As you can see Austin-Round Rock continues to be significantly lower than the National Average.
 
Between January 1st and July 19th of 2009 there were 4,216 single-family homes sold within the Austin city limits with a median sold price of $117.01 per square foot ($233,500), which is a 2.8% reduction in the

Austin Real Estate vs Unemployment

The Austin unemployment rate (Austin-Round Rock) slightly increased from 5.8% in April 2009 to 6.1% in May 2009 with 300 more people employed in Austin-Round Rock in May 2009 than the previous month. In comparison, during the same time period the State of Texas unemployment rate increased from 6.4% in April 2009 to 6.9% in May 2009.  The United States unemployment rate increased from 8.6% in April 2009 to 9.1% in May 2009.  As you can see Austin-Round Rock continues to be significantly lower than the National Average.
 
Between January 1st and July 1st of 2009 there were 3,775 single-family homes sold within the Austin city limits with a median sold price of $116.88 per square foot ($233,000), which is a 4%

Austin Real Estate vs Unemployment

The Austin unemployment rate (Austin-Round Rock) slightly decreased from 6.2% in March 2009 to 5.8% in April 2009 with 11,600 more people employed in Austin-Round Rock in April 2009 than the previous month. This is the third month in a row that Austin-Round Rock has decreased. In comparison, during the same time period the State of Texas unemployment rate decreased from 6.7% in March 2009 to 6.4% in April 2009.  The United States unemployment rate decreased from 9.0% in March 2009 to 8.6% in May 2009.  As you can see Austin-Round Rock continues to be significantly lower than the National Average.
 
Between January 1st and April 30th of 2009 there were 2,130 single-family homes sold within the Austin city limits
